Scope

– Demolition and replacement of stormwater headwall involving a new customised stormwater headwall with custom bends of steel.
– Installation of 3 x footbridges, 1 x viewing platform and 2 picnic shelters.
– Undertake the entire project within the 4-month programme during the wet season.
– Excavate and trim open channel for 6,000 wetland plantings.
– 500m of new footpath & 350m of new conduiting, 18 new pits and 19 new light poles.

Overview

Vassallo Constructions was engaged by Mackay Regional Council to undertake Phase 1 of the redevelopment of the Woodlands District Park.  The site contains open green spaces, beautiful remnant bushland, and a picturesque lake feature.

As the park is progressively developed, it will boast a range of facilities including an all-abilities playground, public amenities, paths to run, walk and cycle on and family-friendly barbecue facilities and picnic shelters.
