OUR CONSTRUCTION HISTORY
GET TO KNOW US
In 1997, Vassallo Constructions was founded as a family owned and operated construction business based in Mackay on the family’s sugarcane farm. The early days saw a local construction business centred upon the four brother’s skillset; however, the brothers had a vision for more than farming.
Throughout the years, the company vertically integrated, with in-house mechanical crews, farming & quarry operations which all supported the construction business. The construction history evolved over the next 25 plus years.
The Vassallo name now contributes to roads, bridges, car parks, solar farms, water dams and many more key infrastructure assets throughout the greater Mackay, Isaac & Whitsunday region.
The business has come a long way since its first commercial project, constructing a pipeline and channel for the Pioneer River Improvement Trust. Its first urban development was Northview Gardens, transforming a family farm into one of Mackay’s first master-planned communities, elevating estate living to a new level.
As well as intricate infrastructure, the Vassallo family are proud of the projects which shape the community, including Mackay’s city centre revitalisation, and most recently, the Shute Harbour Marine Terminal which provides faster access to many of the popular Whitsunday islands. The Vassallo Construction team has a rich and diverse construction history across the Central and North Queensland region.
