Overview

Vassallo Constructions was engaged by the RRC to upgrade the intersection of Richardson Road into the Redhill Homemaker Centre.  The scope included: 

– Amending the centre median on the western approach to provide a longer right-turn lane.
Widen the road formation on the eastern approach to the intersection to provide 2 x 3.3m through lanes and a 3.0m left-turn lane (shared with cyclists).
– Provide signalised pedestrian crossings on the southern and eastern legs of the intersection.
– Excavate areas to facilitate the construction of granular and concrete pavements where applicable.
– Remove sections of existing medians, footpaths and kerbs.
– Provide new footpath areas, including kerb ramps to pedestrian crossings.
– Install traffic signal hardware, including the controller.
– Provide electrical cabling between the Ergon Pillar 37100 and the traffic signal controller (subject to confirmation by Ergon Energy).
– Provide necessary hardware to provide communications with TMR (as directed by Traffic Signals Coordinator).
– Coordinate the commissioning of the signals.
– Demolish a number of existing signs and remove sections of existing line marking.
– Provide a number of new signs and sections of new line marking.
– Restore existing landscaping and irrigation components.
