This projects scope involved the duplication of 3.6 kilometres of Mackay Bucasia Road. It was imperative that traffic interruption was kept to a minimum due to the large amount of commuters that use the road each day.
Special work included constructing an overpass over the existing rail line, duplication of the existing road to make this four lanes and extending the drainage system.
Underboring was required to run pipes under the existing rail line. Reconstruction works on the original road had to be carried out to bring them up to Main Road Standards.
These works included milling and resurfacing.
