Vassallo Constructions was engaged by Pacific Hydro for their Haughton Solar Farm project located within the Burdekin Shire Council. This scope of the project included:
– Bridge preparation earthworks including clearing and grubbing and excavation,
– Demolition of existing abutment walls and construction of new abutments,
– Installation and tensioning of precast bridge girders,
– Construction of wingwalls, relieving slabs and concrete toppings slab,
– Construction and bitumen seal unbound pavement approaches,
– Relocation and upgrade of safety rail.
The project is located along Keith Vanbles Road, Upper Haughton and crosses the Sunwater channel. The project entailed the widening of the existing single lane crossing to a two-way crossing to allow for heavy vehicle traffic flow. The project was completed under live traffic conditions.
