The Construction/Restoration of the Greenhill Beach Area project involves the Restoration of a Pedestrian Boardwalk as well as the construction of a vehicle access onto the pristine beach area of Greenhill.

Works include Removal and Replacement of a section of the existing timber boardwalk as well as refurbishment of a section to restore the pedestrian access to the beach after damage caused by natural disasters.

The vehicle access works includes regrading of the existing profile for ease of access on and off the beach as well as incorporating the placement of recycled plastic planks to improve vehicle egress. The utilisation of these plastic planks has played a significant part in reducing environmental waste as they are made up of around 393,750 plastic bags and this as a result reduces approximately 5.25m3 of landfill.

The works have been undertaken with approvals in place with DES (Department of Environment and Science) and have been completed in a short timeframe to have works completed prior to the turtle breeding season.
