Overview 

Glenrowan Estate Stage 7 comprises a residential subdivision delivering 36 lots along with supporting civil infrastructure and community amenities. Vassallo Constructions was engaged to complete the full civil works package, including bulk earthworks, drainage, roadworks, and service installation. The project involved approximately 70,000m³ of earthworks to construct wetlands, sediment basins, detention infrastructure, and major trunk drainage, including multi-cell culvert systems. Additional scope included the upgrade of a trunk watermain, reconstruction of Kellys Road, and the delivery of Glenrowan Park featuring open space, shelters, pathways, and a playground. The works were undertaken in a live residential environment, requiring careful management of traffic, erosion and sediment controls, and stakeholder coordination, along with on-site material crushing to improve efficiency and reduce environmental impact.

Scope 

– 70,000m3 of earthworks throughout early stages of project to excavate wetland, sediment basins, trunk drain and detention basin.
– Drainage improvements consisting of two culvert systems:

– 1 x 12 cell 1200×900 RCBC
– 1 x 3 cell 1500×1200 RCBC link slab culvert

– Glenrowan Park construction consisting of kick-around area, integrated footpaths, two large shelters for picnic areas and the playground consisting of multiple play equipment.
– Design and construction of a trunk watermain upsizing from an existing 100mm dia AC main to a 300mm dia PVC main including 500mm DI enveloper under a 12 cell 1200×900 RCBC).
– Reconstruction of Kellys Road including liaison with several landowners, and internal traffic management plans implemented for the duration of the project.
– Understand construction of 36 residential lots as part of the first land release including all pipework, roads, earthworks, retaining walls whilst managing dust, erosion and sediment control, high volumes of neighbours.
– On-site crushing and screening of excavated rocks.
