Overview

The proposed Pioneer River levee is a flood protection levee envisaged to protect the communities along Fursden Creek including Valetta Gardens, Rivers Edge Estate and existing residential dwellings along the riverside of Kay Court and Heaths Road.

The levee design consists of a mixture of earthen banks and constructed walls. The proposed levee will stretch about 450m along the length of a constructed stormwater drain that runs between Fursden Court and Valletta Gardens, then about 1,400m to the east along the upper northern bank of Fursden Creek, where it merges with the Pioneer River.
